In lieu of our monthly Staff Assembly meeting on Wednesday, December 15, we are inviting everyone to the CUCSA (Council of UC Staff Assemblies) Town Hall at 12:00 pm PST.   Learn more about how the Staff Assemblies from all UC locations work together to advocate for us!

UCSF URGES BOOSTER SHOTS FOR EVERYONE OVER 18

Due to the emergence of the Omicron variant in San Francisco, UCSF strongly urges those over age 18 to get booster shots, which are widely available through vaccination clinics, health care providers, Safeway stores and neighborhood pharmacies. Californians can visit the My Turn website or call (833) 422-4255 to make an appointment or find a nearby vaccine clinic. For information about how to get a booster shot at UCSF, please visit the UCSF Health website.

CALL-OUT FOR YOUR ARTWORK!

The Staff Assembly is considering creating some special sessions in 2022 where we highlight the artwork of UCSF Staff (virtually), and incorporate in a gallery on our website.  We are seeking submissions that can include:

  • Visual art (paintings, sculptures, photography, etc.)
  • Music
  • Writing
  • Dance

The number of sessions we host will depend on how many artists we have interested in sharing.  Please let us know if you have something that you’d like to share with the UCSF Staff Assembly community.  We’d love to hear from you!

SAFE SOCIAL NETWORKING DURING HOLIDAYS

December is Safe Social Networking During the Holidays Awareness Month.

Especially around the holidays, social networking is a fun way stay connected to friends and family and keep in touch with people you rarely see in person.  However, according to the FTC, reports of e-commerce fraud have skyrocketed with the pandemic. Nearly 25% of these reports include a social media hook and 94% of these reports mentioned Facebook or Instagram.  The message is clear: be careful while you are on social media platforms.

You can opt to take the quiz at the end.  All UCSF faculty, staff, contractors, students, and affiliates who take the quiz will be entered in a drawing for one of six $50 Amazon gift cards.

On behalf of the Staff Assembly Executive Board, we want to hear from you!  For any staff concerns, or any resources you'd like presented at a future Staff Assembly meeting, please email [email protected]
